Ringtone sync

I created a custom ringtone that is about 1.1MB, when I go to iTunes to upload the tone to my phone, I go to the tones part of the phone and check the sync tones box. I have only one tone and 45Gb left on the phone yet when I check the sync tones box it suddenly adds like 50 Gb of audio putting me 5 gb over the storage space limit, I am not syncing anything else but the tone.
