I recently updated my MacBook Pro to Yosemite and updated my ITunes playlists. Then I used iTunes to copy my updated Playlists to my iPhone 6. After doing that, I noticed all my personal ringtones were gone from my iPhone.

I have tried to recreate my Ringtones playlist, by changing the ringtones to AAC and renaming m4r all over again. But I cannot drag them back into my ringtones folder.

I see all of my previous ringtones in the Tones section. I see my old m4r ringtones there, but I cannot get them back into the playlist called Ringtones.

And then when I got one there, it shows up on my phone as a music playlist, but does not show up in my Sounds, so I cannot use it as a ringtone.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Also, what is the difference in the Tones section of iTunes and the Ringtones playlist. Why can't I drag a ringtone directly from the Tones to my Ringtones?
