RIP René Auberjonois

I always liked his work as ODO on Star Trek Deep Space 9. I haven't seen much else of his work that I can recall. Except as the eccentric mentor on Frasier and a few other instances on other shows and movies.

He also played Father Mulcahy in Robert Altman’s movie version of MASH in 1970.

I read this last night; a very good actor, he played a terrific role as ODO on DS9.

Very sad, and some more sad news, Marina Sirti's husband Micheal Lamper passed away in his sleep last night.

That is where I remember him from also. I loved Benson... Through in a little "Soap" and that made for a pretty good night of television in my opinion.

As the over-officious Endicott, he was such a great foil for Robert Guillaume.

"Benson" was a spinoff of "Soap", so there you go... I was barely old enough to have watched much of the latter, highly underrated show.

He was so very good as Odo in DS9. Started a re-watch of the series from the beginning recently, and his scenes with Quark are just perfect!

He also turned up in Madam Secretary for a few episodes - it was nice to see him again on TV…

Yeah, he gave Odo an amazing amount of personality and depth, even buried in makeup.

I saw him in that, and also occasional guest roles on TV such as Night Gallery. Excellent actor.
