RipIt & MacTheRipper not working

I am in the process of backing up my entire DVD collection and using RipIT and MacTheRipper to try and rip one of my kids DVD but its not working. RipIt gets stuck on a certian % and MacTheRipper errors out saying something about bad sectors. What else can I try?

Im assuming you have made sure the disc isnt scratched correct?

Report the title to RipIt's dev team and they'll obtain a copy and fix it. Their support is great.

The discs are horribly scratch but they still play in the DVD player... should still be able to copy it right? I just ran into another disc with the same issue.

Take a look at handbrake http://handbrake.fr/
To read the DVD you'll need VLC installed as well.

I do have handbrake installed, I thought it was for converting video format types however. Not sure how you use it to rip DVDs, will have to look into that more.
