Ripped Songs, Stored On Ext. Hdd, And Can't Find In iTunes Anymore

I ripped some songs from my CD collection. I stored the songs on an external hard drive.

Recently I reinstalled my Mac's OS, and I cannot find the songs and playlists in the iTunes anymore.

So how to fix the problem?

You need to point to the location of the iTunes library.
Go into iTunes prefs/advanced tab, change location.
