I'm trying to rip the audio of a video file and save it as a separate audio file (.mp3 or .aac). I have the file imported in iMovie, and have read on numerous sites that you can click the Advanced menu in the toolbar and export to MP3 .... but there is no Advanced Menu.

Any ideas on how this can be done? Since I've only just become interested in editing and creating videos, I don't really wish to spend a great deal on software to accomplish, what seems to be, a very basic task. So ideally a way to do this within iMovie, or a free app would be preferred.

Thanks in advance. ;)

i think imTooDVD has something like this, or one of their products. I ripped the audio from a DVD of a concert in .wav and compressed it into a MP3 quality of my liking.
