hey, I have a few DVD's (that i legally own) that i want to rip and save on my hd and later convert to an MPEG-4 format for viewing with itunes when im on the road. This so i wont have to lug around lots of dvds that are prone to getting scratched or having them in cases and making them a hassle to carry around along with my computer. I was wondering what would be a good program for ripping commercial dvd's (again that i legally own) onto my hd, something thats preferably intel compatible, and another program that will later convert that video_ts folder to an MPEG-4 format for viewing on itunes, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Handbrake can do it straight to MPEG4.

MAc The Ripper can copy all of the files so that you can run handbrake on that or just burn onto another DVD.

nice, thanks for the link. Handbrake seems like a nice program to get my DVDs onto my iPod.
