Hi All

Just ordered a rmb m5 and I was wondering if on the odd occasion I needed an external display could I use my 2010 21.5" iMac as an external monitor ? Searched for a USB-C to Mini DP cable without success so wondered if the USB-C AV adapter + Mini DP to HDMI would work ?

Any advice appreciated

I have sort of the same question. I have a late 2012 27" iMac and was curious if I could use it as an external display for a new MacBook. Would seem kind of silly to let that beautiful screen go to waste if I got a newer machine.

Hmm, I did think to myself if only it was a year younger and had thunderbolt ! I'll ask in store on Monday when I pick the RMB up. You have to wonder why the iMac has a mini DP port then, maybe the issue would be USB C passing through to mini DP (possibly solved by the bodge above via HDMI) ?
