RMB and External Monitor Help

I'm planning to get a 27" HD monitor, either a Dell or an Asus that I can use with my RMB and my MBA. For HDMI, what adaptor do I need to hook up the RMB. Both monitors have virtually all of the connections. And while we're at it, what external monitors (not Apple) are you all using?

You will need the Apple digital a\v adapter and the hdmi cable. What resolution are you looking at? I'm partial to Dell monitors myself.

Is there a 3rd party adapter that works? How does this adapter connect to the only port on the rmb? Getting either a Dell or an Asus 27" -- not 4k, just HD and want to use hdmi with audio and video. Mainly being used for Word, research etc.

Not really. Certainly nothing I'd trust.
