rMB and tbMBP Monitor Recommendation?

I have a tbMBP and my wife a rMB (2015). While I lust for the 5k LG monitor, it just won't work for me since my wife needs to dock into whatever monitor I get as well.

Anyone have a good recommendation for a nice 4k+ Monitor 27" minimum that would work with both machines individually ? I looked at the LG 38UC99-W which would work but its not quite 4k, but a damn nice looking unit! seemingly would work with both too ....

Thoughts out there?? Thanks in advance ....

I think the LG 27UD88 is a good option.
