Looking to move data from my existing 1.2 rMB to a new 1.3 rMB arriving today, I know Migration Assistant well in terms of using a TM backup disk, WiFi, Ethernet, etc - but have heard rumors of using a USB-C cable between two rMBs to do migration - anyone have any solid data on if this is actually possible?

I have no idea whether this would work, but in theory (assuming the rMB supports target disk mode) you could use a USB A male to male cable and the USB A female to USB C male Apple dongle/adapter. This is worth what you paid for it, though... ;)

In theory it will work if you have a USB-C to USB-C data sync cable. The charging cable included does not work.

There is a support document about this on Apple's site somewhere.
