It's used. Used is a big turn off for me when purchasing something like a MacBook (and probably for many others -- unless it's refurb, which is a totally different story).

Agreed. Nothing wrong with used per say, but I would rather buy one from someone locally on Craigs list where I could see it beforehand rather than purchasing blind from the Internet.

When I saw the post, I assumed it was a refurb, which given Apple's history, I would have no problem buying sight unseen.

All that said, if someone is looking to get into a rMBP on the cheap, this certainly is an option.

Good thing is you can check whether it is "new" enough and Amazon has 30 day no-hassle return policy

If it is cosmetically new and with almost full warranty I guess pretty much same?
 
FYI, I think the deal is pretty good. Would snap one if I have not bought the 15' and imac 27'
