Hi,
I have a Retina MacBook Pro 13" (Late 2013). Most of the time, I use it as a desktop PC, so I have a HDMI screen and a USB hub with a few devices (keyboard, mouse, external HDDs) connected.
Now, if I put the MacBook into sleep over night and disconnect the charger, I see a very excessive battery drain. Over 9 hours, the battery level decreased from 100% to 74%. This battery drain occurs with both opened and closed lid. However, I don't have this battery drain if I disconnect all my devices (HDMI, USB) before going to sleep.
I did have a look into the MacOS console log, but I can't see any wakes during sleep time. So I don't think it's a software thing. On top of that, I did a fresh install of MacOS recently.
So my question is if there's possibly a "hardware" battery drain with external devices connected. Sometimes I see the HDMI or USB connector emitting a few sparks when being connected, probably because the devices have a different ground? Is there anyone who can confirm this issue?
