Hey,

Anyone else got a Retina Macbook Pro that is hot to touch when doing nothing?

Surely the bottom should not be ridiculously hot even when the Laptop is charging?

Not to mention I have next to nothing running?

Any Ideas?

Try downloading the SMC update and 10.8.3. Then do an SMC reset. Then go to activity moniter,CPU, all processes to see if anything is using up a lot of your CPU. Dropbox, for example, uses a lot of the CPU which heats up the computer. Turn on automatic graphics switching if it is not already.

I have already applied the latest update a couple of days ago now...

What is resetting the SMC and how do I go about doing it? Are there any risks when doing so?

Also what is resetting the PRAM? seen this mentioned allot on here.

Thanks
