Hi guys

Sometimes I connect my rMBP to my Panasonic to watch movies. I use a hdmi-hdmi cable and the display automatically detects the resolution and everything is fine. However when I disconnect my Mac and use it without the screen it keeps the black bars at the bottom and top during startup. I have to reset pram for this to keep happening. Is that normal and is there anything I can do to prevent it? The same thing goes when using Airplay-mirroring.

Can't say I'm exactly sure why this is happening but something you can try to get the resolution back to normal after disconnecting the TV:

  1. Go to System Preferences
  2. Click Displays
  3. Hold option - 'Detect Displays' should appear. Click it.

Fingers crossed after doing this it will detect that your TV is no longer connected and restore to the correct resolution.

It worked! Thanks :)

It's probably happening because TS panasonic having a wider aspect ratio than the Mac and it ****s up.
