Has anyone else noticed this on theirs? It has happened on mine and my friends in the last month or so. It takes around 10 seconds to go to sleep whereas it used to be instant? Cheers!

Hi,

yes, my RMBP does that too, I noticed it yesterday.
The screnn goes off but the fans keep spinning for 20seconds or so.

Noticed that it takes quites long to shutdown too.

regards,
Bernhard

Couple threads about this but keep in mind that your computer won't sleep or shut off if it is doing something that needs to finish. Check your Activity Monitor--or if you have iStat--to see what processes are running.

I have the same issue and I believe this is google chrome related. I managed to fix the problem by going into Activity Monitor and "Quit Process" all google chrome related processes (e.g. Helper, Renderer, Worker, etc.). Simply closing the google chrome window will not work. This fixed my 20 second sleep problem.

Interesting, the threads don't close completely? Thanks for the information.
