rMBP and 4K resolution

Who else thinks that the Verge is wrong about the rMBP's supposed inability to drive a 31 inch 4K display?

My rMBP has no problem running both its internal LCD and 2 TBDs, and that seems to me to be far more pixels.

I thought I'd start a thread on this here since the comments on the Verge's page are, save for 1 or 2 exceptions, infuriatingly biased against Apple.

probably driver issue, apple has to make it compatible for 1 screen 4k res vs 2 screen totaling 4k.
but i'm no expert, only common sense.

The Thunderbolt controller used in the current rMBPs does not support DP 1.2 (required for 4K video) but Intel has already released new controllers that add DP 1.2 support.

Yeah I agree also the 650m is capable of 4k. I think it has something to do with the OS and not the hardware.
