rMBP - Audio Line in & Out?

Is there a way to line out and line in on the new macbook pro at the same time? Or do you need some sort of external box? And if so has anyone used one or know of one that works well?

A USB to 3.5mm audio adapter ( cheap USB DAC) maybe? You should be able to grab something like thison ebay for 2 or 3 dollars.
