Hey guys, last week I purchased a 15" rMBP and realized there was no charge indicator on the side of the device. I really used to like that little feature on the classic MBP's making it so I didn't have to open my laptop to view the battery life. Really wish the could've incorporated that into the retinas.

Yes, it's unfortunate but well known.

yea I miss that feature as well.

What is DOES have, however, is upgraded firmware such that when the computer does not have enough battery to start it shows the red battery icon with a connect to charger logo below it. iPhone and iPad users will be familiar with this sign.
