rMBP battery usage

I am wondering about the battery life of my brand new rmbp 2.4ghz/8gb/256gb.
I noticed that I only get approx 5 - 6 hours.

Usage behavior is:
Tethering via iPad mini, brightness: 5 bars less than brightest

Apps running:
pages, numbers, word, photoshop, a view documents in preview and adobe reader, safari (approx 10tabs), mail, sme cloud service, notes.

Is this normal?
I am almost thinking about swapping with my gf.
She's got the mba haswell 4gb/256gb. I wonder if I would get more battery out of that one.
I really need the battery time, cuz I work a lot on the go and can't take a power adapter with me.

I was always paranoid with my new systems but it will improve after a few battery cycles.

New batteries have a bit of a break-in period. It should improve after a few cycles.

That said, your GF's MBA will probably still mop the floor with your Pro. Battery life is its bread & butter.
