rMBP - Black screen after sleep

Generally my laptop is connected to 2 external monitors:

1. mini-display port to Display Port
2. mini-display to DVI

The 1st monitor will remain black, but I can see the cursor.
The 2nd monitor seems to always return.

Is this some weird GPU issue? Or Drivers? Both?

I no longer have apple care. Ran the diagnostics, didn't come out with anything.

Any ideas?

It's almost certainly not a hardware issue.
