How significantly does the performance varies between the configurations listed below.
2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
512GB Flash Storage

2.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
512GB Flash Storage

Not at all if you do not do things which take advantage of the clock speed. Internet browsing with Pages open? No difference. HD video editing while running Handbrake? Noticeable, although not huge.

Keep in mind the 2.7 will get slightly hotter:

.3 GHz
I suspect you know the answer to this, but I will tell you little to none.

2 MB more cache more as well. 4 MB to 6.

True, since the OP did not mention it, neither did I :)
Bottom line is both are pretty close in specs. I doubt the average user will see a difference.

The cache increase will have a slight increase of performance and stability...much in the same way an increase in RAM does.

VERY small. Unless you are rendering out large 3D or video, or crunching numbers all say long you will probably never notice the difference. Even if you are it will not be a big one.

I use only VM's but no photo editing and stuff.Do you think that should 2.4 should be good enough?
