Hi all,

The rMBP is undoubtedly Apple's least repairable machine. With components like the battery and display glued into the chassis, I can't help but wonder how the Apple store goes about repairing them...

If a rMBP has a damaged display or needs a battery replacement, does the store do the repair overnight in the back room or do they just ship it out?

For owners of rMBPs with image retention issues: did the Apple store give you a replacement or did they perform a repair? What about BTO configurations?

Thanks in advance,
Forerunner

It probably varies from store to store.

Also, you should really take it easy about your rmbp purchase. People on forums complain too much. Don't take all these threads about IR so seriously. I've had my rmbp for 2 months now, with an LG display nonetheless and have 0 IR. Be happy :).

You don't have to worry about it.
You have bought the world's best notebook.
Just be happy using it.

I brought my rMBP in for a display replacement on a friday evening and they were done on Monday around noon. I assume they did the repair in-house. This was at the Los Gatos, CA store.

Interesting...

Teeejay, was the Apple store you went to a large, well-staffed store or a small one in a local mall?

Actually we have no Apple store in our country, just premium resellers. So I had to call Apple, tell them the problem and they navigated me to their nearest mac service.

I think that the Mac was repaired in about 2-3 days, but they forgot to call me, so I picked it up in 7 days.

Hopefully you will understand, my English is not that good. :)
