rMBP doesn't have an accelerometer?

I couldn't find anything on the forum already.. But I realized the rMBP doesn't have an accelerometer. Is this because it doesn't have a hard drive and doesn't need the sudden motion sensor ability anymore? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I just thought it was interesting.
