Just playing around with mountain lion and was going through the preferences panels and tried unchecking the use LCD font smoothing when available and text looks really pin sharp on the retina display.

I was just wondering if anyone else was using there retina mac with the smoothing turned off or is everyone leaving it on?

Not sure if is going to give me a headache or not but the text looks a lot less "thick"

Thoughts?

I'm a little surprised no one has commented on this as the difference is night and day but I'm guessing I'm a little slow to the party on this one and many may have picked up on the font smoothing issue on other threads about making non retina apps look better.

Anyway, been using this set up for almost 24 hours now and I'm still alive and everything is still amazing!

I'll try it when I get home later, thanks for the tip.
