Is it possible to drive a HP Z27q or Dell UltraSharp UP2715K 5K resolution 60Hz with RMBP (Iris Pro)?

The retina Imac will only support the inbuilt screen at 5K and the Mac pro needs a double connection and the display stitches the 2 signals together....

- Both need a double DisplayPort connection (as do all other computers in the world), as the cited monitors use DisplayPort 1.2.
And both do fully support 5K externals (or at least the UP2715K), as per the link I posted. Unless you have practical evidence to the contrary?

Thank mate

That was not the case for riMac last time I looked they did not support any external 5K displays.

I agree that all computers currentkly reqiure dual cable connections for 5K displays.

Personally I would use a 1440p or 1600p display and go for quality over pixel density myself.

This is what I read too.

The 5K Dell is supported by the 2013 Mac Pro and the 5K iMac. You connect it by using two cables to either of the Macs mentioned in the first sentence. This is officially supported by Apple since 10.10.3. It would not be in the support document, if they didn't test it. There are users that have the 5K Dell running on the 2013 Mac Pro on this forum. I haven't seen any iMac users post their experiences yet though.
