I am planning to get a Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro (with Retina display) quad-core Intel Core i7 2.6GHz, 16GB RAM, 512GB flash storage, Intel HD Graphics 4000, Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion for 2399$ in macmall. I was wondering if this was a pre iteration of the current model on the apple store? If so does this necessarily means that there would be problems for sure or is it better to get the new iteration becuase of from what i have read on the forums most of the issues got addresed but costs a couple of extra bucks.Any advises?

if you find a display issue, apple will fix or replace. If you are concerned, think about how easy is it for you to get to an apple store and determine if its worth the discount. The vast majority of displays have no issues.
