So I noticed in my system info it says I've got 219/250GB free but it says I've got 59GB of apps. Any clue why it does this? Or how I might fix it? Thanks!

I actually think its fixed now. I found a command to reindex spotlight, it seems like that may have done the trick. I'm now showing as 16GB of apps and 11.81GB of Other now.

The Other being that high does seem weird but the numbers at least match up now anyways.

Download and use OmniDiskSweeper. It will provide a sorted list of what's consuming your space. It provides a more detailed listing of what is consuming your storage.

Thank you both for the info. I'm still learning OS X as I've only had this machine for a month now and this is my first weekend where I'm attempting to not use Windows for anything so its interesting learning about all of this.
