Hello :D

I am wondering... I own a rMBP mid-2012 base model and I don't know if I want to upgrade to a newer model.

Is still a good laptop in 2016? I work in Logic Pro sometimes and I want to know if I can use this model for the next 2-3 years without any problems.

I wanted to exchange it with a dual core mid-2014 model but I lose the performance and the screen :( .

What do you guys think? Are you happy with 2012-2013 rMBP models ?

It very much depends on what you do with it. Its a loaded question. My 2012 retina i7 15" was a solid performer. However it was starting to show its age. Battery was due for replacement, discreet GPU was starting act up again (even though it was replaced under warranty), etc.

I was going to upgrade to a 2015 loaded unit, but stopped when I heard the new ones were anticipated to be released this year. I am typing this on a 2016 and I have no regrets.

If you are going to use 4 diva and 5 serum synths then no... it all depends on your usage. We cant answer that.
