I might be missing something here but...

...if you spec out the base model 15" rMBP to match the high end model (2.3GHz, 16GB ram, 512GB storage), the price comes out to be the same price but without the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M. So my question is, why would someone get those specs on the base model when they could spend the same money and get the dedicated graphics card as well.

Is there some sort of other benefit to the high end model I'm not seeing?
 
Care to elaborate? My Internet isn't fast enough to stream the keynote.

Apple is giving us the option as to whether we want a dGPU or not since there is significant battery life savings with Iris Pro graphics. (I recall something about 1/4 the power draw.)

That's why the pricing when maxed comes out to be the same.
