Hi,
Has anyone else noticed that when playing a video on youtube (I tested with a 4K video, it plays on 2K) the video looks a bit fuzzy? I've discovered that the macbook, which runs at 1440x900 HiDPI, renders the video at 2K but then downscales to match 1440x900, then again upscaling again to match the screen. This makes video extremely blurry. When using a tool to switch to native 2880x1800 I can watch the video fullscreen without any problem in sharpness.
I have found a way to workaround this problem by using clicktoplugin, but I'd rather not use any plugins, especially not this buggy one which doesn;t work al that great on Mountain Lion.
So; do you guys think Adobe will update their flash player for retina? And will the HTML5 player ever support the retina screen? It actually looks better to watch video on my old 1280x800 MBP13" screen..
