I have noticed that email which arrives while my rMBP is awake shows as unread ie a blue dot in the reading pane and '1' in the dock.
However, if mail arrives whilst the machine is sleeping it does not register as unread.
When you wake it up, the email inbox is all read and the dock has no unread email.
Anyone else noticed this?
Is there an easy fix that I don't know about?
Many thanks

Hmmm, this is pretty serious.

If you want to fix this problem here's what you do:
- Go to System Preferences
- Go to Security and Privacy
- Enable locking when the computer sleeps
- Make a strong password
- Don't let your girlfriend/wife check your computer while you're gone

Thanks for the laugh

great answers!
If only it were that simple...
Anyone have any ideas?

I'm still running Lion so no power nap for me.
I now have incoming email which is showing as read when I haven't looked at it.
This is very odd...
