rMBP Right Speaker Slight Louder? Seems a little to me!
Fault? / Just the design?

It was equally balanced.
Moving a few clicks to the left does make it sound more balanced - but it sorta depends what your listening too.

Suppose if the sub is on the right in the MBP it would seem louder on the right hand side

the rMPB no longer has the separate sub element, so that's not the reason at any rate.
