Im new to the retina, I just wanted to know if I watch a 4k video in youtube will it show at the screens native resolution or at the scaled resolution?

If you watch a 4K video on YouTube, it will be downscaled to fit the entire image on your Retina MacBook Pro's display at its native resolution (2880 X 1800 on the 15-inch). The rMBP's scaling mode doesn't affect its operating resolution.

Cool thanks, so the scaling only effects the OS UI I'm assuming?
