rMBP strange screen malfunction. Is it defective?

Just opened up my rMPB and found that my screen had this strange pattern on it.

It has since disappeared as mysteriously as it came. It was just sitting in my cool room on sleep mode. Even though it is gone, this is a new device and I want to make sure it is not defective.

Anyone know what this is?

if it happens again I would take it in. More than likely tho, it's fine. I remember the MBAs doing that to some people when waking from sleep.
