The title states my question.

Basically I want to know if a thunderbolt drive would allow me to boot windows 7 from that drive instead of my internal SSD on my rMBP.

I read this in an article somewhere but I can't seem to find any information on it.

Has anyone done this before and if so what drive did you use to do it?

Thank You!

I never tried it but I highly doubt it.
Windows cannot be booted from external drives in first place so it wont be able to.
If you have VMware/Parallel you can, but bootcamp, no.

I heard somewhere that a drive connected through thunderbolt is recognized as an internal drive by Windows 7.

I wish had the funds to purchase one and test it out.
