Hi,
I have a recent 15" rMBP purchased on Black Friday, together with the Thunderbolt-to-GigaEthernet adapter purchased together.
The OS is 10.8.2, updated to the last minute.
I used the adapter alot in office. But it dies on me twice every day. I cannot reproduce the problem; it is random. I have to unplug teh thunderbolt connector , and plug it in again. I have also tried to unplug the LAN cable for fault isolation, but it is not the LAN nor the office network fault.
AFter reconnecting teh Thunderbolt connector, DHCP in office works again.
I will get another adapter again, but I am not sure whether there are any other than Apple-brand that is on the market.
Below is the output of "sudo dmesg" after it happens. There is a Thunderbolt firmware update v2.0 explicitly, I tried that , but it says it is not compatible with my macbook.
Alternatively, is there any settings that cause the adapter to go to sleep after x minutes ?
Any advice appreciated. Rgds.
