I tried to connect my rMBP (2015) screen to my 32" TV for the first time, didn't work. I used the Sony HDMI cable and thought it should be compatible.

My Mac screen starts to change a bit (not full screen anymore), and the screen starts to change to total blackout and keeps flashing back again. My TV screen shows error, totally wouldn't work.

Also when I jacked the HDMI to my Mac it wouldn't perfectly fit, it was a little bit loose.

It scared me off for the Mac though, I mean the TV doesn't cost that much. Just ordered an adapter to connect my TV screen to an older version of MBP, hope they work though.

Try using a mini display port to HDMI adapter or cable from your thunderbolt port and see how that goes, it shouldn't be able to damage your computer but I would guess you may have a dodgy HDMI port it may be worth getting Apple to take a look.
