RME Fireface 400 and Mavericks

Help!

All I want to do is use my RME Fireface 400 for some audio playback through iTunes.

At the moment I cannot get any audio from the FF400 either from the headphones, or digital and analog outputs.

As soon as I try and play back audio via the iTunes and the FF400 I get an error red host light flashing on the interface. I've had no joy from the RME forum so is there anyone in here that might be able to advise me?
