Hi all,

I have been searching online and can't come across any information on this particular topic. Anyone here know what the small opening is on the back of the new Rmini is for? I noticed that quite a few cases i like have no openings so I am wondering the what it is and if it is important for the optimal usage of the device.

Thanks in advance,

CFS

The iPad mini retina has dual microphone, to reduce background noise...
If you cover it, your normal microphone will still work, but the noise reduction will be 'disabled'

Really? Kind of stinks then that some of the high quality cases out there have no opening to make use of apps that have recoding ability.

Those cases were made for the first Mini most likely.

Give them some time to adapt to the retina Mini.
