Hi all,

Quick question -- I've noticed the power button no longer gives me the option to chose between 'sleep' / 'restart' / 'shut down.'

Usually, when the computer is running, pressing once on the power button brings that choice. My late 2013 15-inch 2.6/16/512 immediately goes into sleep mode.

Am I the only one or is this a new functionality from Mavericks/rMPB?

Thanks!

I believe this is new functionality in Mavericks as my 17" MBP from 2009 and my 2013 Haswell rMBP both go to sleep mode when pressing the power button.

Okay. I actually don't like that at all. I used to press the power button and the return key to shut down my computer. Way faster than using the mouse.

As for putting it to sleep, closing the lid was way faster too. Why would anyone want to have the computer in sleep mode with the lid open?

Why would they remove such a handy feature? Oh, Apple.

Thank you for your help! :)

just tried, if you press it one time it goes to sleep, if you press and hold for 3 sec. menu comes up and gives you options.
