My new rMPB screen had a dead pixel close to the middle of the screen, I had read that this was within Apples spec so I didn't do anything about. Then last weekend I went in to the apple store with my gf as she was having issues with her phone, i randomly said my retina screen had a dead pixel and they told me to bring it in and they'd see what they could do. I brought it in a couple days later and the tech determined that it wasn't a dead pixel but a dimple in the glass? Anyways he ordered me a new retina screen and my macbook has been at apple the past couple days getting fixed. Very impressed with apples service on this as I figured I was just **** out of luck.

Display warranties can sometimes be a touchy subject with other brands, but they should never be an issue with something in the center of the display. Anyone would hate that.
