Road trip w/ new iPhone

I'm planning an out-of-state road trip, with the first stop at an Apple store to swap my ATT Blackberry for an iPhone (assuming they're in stock first thing in the morning).

Since I won't have access to my pc/iTunes immediately, can I use the iPhone right out of the box (charging it with the wall plug) after having my existing cell number transferred to the iPhone, or do I need to sync it to iTunes before I can do anything?

They're activating in store now, so you should be able to walk out with a working iPhone.

It works right out of the box....err.. after they activate it I mean But they'll do that for you in store. Once you get back home, you'll need to register it on itunes before you can sync, but the phone and everything else other than your music and data will work. Have fun...love road trips!
