Roadrunner Email Hell

Just as title states. Have a Roadrunner email address on my iPhone 6 Plus. In the past when I got a new phone, I might have 2000 or so old email messages load on my phone that I would go in and have to delete. Once I did that i was good to go. Since Friday, each time I delete a message (could be 10 or a 100) it replaces those messages with older ones. It's loading message that are 18+ months old at this point and deleted off old iPhones and from my account.

Anybody have any idea how to fix? Suggestions? Odd thing is that I have a Gmail account and it is not happening with that one.

Wow. I had "Roadrunner" in Ohio back in 1997 when they were one of the pilot areas for cable internet. Is it the same company? I haven't heard that name for 15 years.
