So i live in Seattle and I'm a college student who needs a portable laptop. So when desiring an i7 ultimate 11" air, the cost discount for upgrades and a care plan are very attractive for me from the base models. Sadly though, tax on a fully upgraded laptop was upsetting.

Solution: I drove to portland and bought the "ultimate" 11" air :) on a student discount :) total price of $1732. 1.8 ghz i7, 256ssd, apple care plan with a 100$ app store gift card.

They even looked at my washington license and everything, yet no tax. (I was slightly worried that they might have needed to mail student purchases and tax based on address, but they thankfully just handed me my air in store).

I know this process is obvious for many of you, but if you were concerned that there might be difficulties, then rest assured and go for it!
