iPhone XS Roaming on eSIM

Ever since I changed over to Verizon eSIM on my XS, the signal strength indicator in my cars (via Bluetooth) - Toyota Sequoia and Honda Pilot - show roaming. I had never seen the roaming indicator prior - coincidence or something about how the eSIM works?
