Is there any difference between the two. Rock seems to be lot faster, but wondering whether there are less apps available through it?

The fact that saurik is saving our SHSH's is the reason i use cydia.

A lot of people, including myself, find that rock causes problems such as crashes, and battery drain. Some others prefer rock over cydia.

Really is your choice, but I think there is a reason cydia is the default app that comes with the jailbreak.

My 2 cents

Rock is required for MyWi and My3G (maybe InteliScreen also).

Everything else can be obtained on Cydia.

I prefer Cydia as it's Saurik's product, but have Rock for the above 2 apps only

rock

rock is pointless, everything rock has can be found in cydia pending you have the right sources

i have started using rock becuase it just seems so much faster, and much less of a chore. I find it irritating how after a lot of apps I have to restart springboard, after individual installs with cydia. However with Rock it has a nice little touch where u reboot on exit, now i dont know if that is damaging to the system or not, but it just speeds everything up.

I jsut wanted to check it doesnt have any major issues and the same apps catalogue is available. I guess that isnt a big deal because if it sint available i can always use cydia.

I use both... Rock is much faster, never crashes and host some apps that aren't available on Cydia.... On the other hand Cydia has apps you can't get on Rock... As painful as it is to use Cydia, sometimes you have no choice. I really like that rock works in landscape mode making it easier to type in names of apps when doing a search. I also like that Cydia "autofills" names as you type them in to the search bar which can also speed up the search.

i've always had both on my phones and never noticed any crashes or excessive battery drain. However I do try to purchase from Cydia whenever possible for the main reason that you can use your purchases on multiple devices. Unless Rock has changed, you can only use the programs you buy on 1 device.

I agree, I also like Cydia better than Rock.
And hopefully soon that Mywi will be available from cydia with no rock there wont be a reason to keep Rock around.

Cydia I stay away from Rock I have had to many problems. I also prefer to get my paid apps from one source eliminates confusion of where I got what.

How do you do that?
