i installed rock last night and was so surprised how fast it is a loading and its user friendliness its 1000 times better that cydia, my question is why is cydia still the stock jailbreak app and not rock

All that glitters is not gold my friend.
My personal experience is when Rock works well it is fantastic, but when it has an off day you very often end up with a knackered phone which needs to be restored... Happened 3 time to me before I finally just gave up on it. Have a search around and you may well find other tales of woe.
Of course, YMMV. I'm sure some folks never have any problems...

I have never had to restore anything after getting my packages from Rock. I agree that the UI is a bit more friendly on Rock, but I am only using it for my3g and mywi at the moment.

Bugs, insistence on using RockExtensions, shady business practices etc. Do a searchon google and these forums, there are a lot of reasons.

I have had no real problems with Rock products
to date or how they have affected my JB
iPhone 4.

However....

They seem to be the friendliest bunch of
people on the planet, sending you almost
instant email replies when you ask them
about their products......

.....however, all that comes to a screeching
halt as soon as you have a problem. They
just stop replying to email.

Basically, in my case, I had problem logging
into my account. Wrote them end-on-end for
a week and they refused to reply. Turns out,
I made a very simple mistake. The guys at
Rock Apps would have helped with my discovery
sooner if only they made the effort to help.

In any case, I am still a Rock customer with
no further problems.

The UI is awesome, very fast, and very intuitive...And it is the WORST!

I had to do a full restore on my iphone TWICE because I uninstalled apps using rock. I will never install it again. Even if you uninstall it using cydia, it never fully uninstalls...

Okay...

For those of us that made the mistake
of going with ROCK (but whose applications
are working just fine)....

I take it as long as we don't try to uninstall
the APP we will be fine?

I mean, if I don't want to use their products
anymore I just won't open the app icon.

RockExtensions (the active Libraries that Rocks uses) is not as mature as Mobile Substrate (active Libraries that Cydia uses) and in top of that they do not play nice to each other. One of the worst implementation that rock had (since i hear that they fix that) was memory management, rock used to take up to several GBs of free memory on your iphone to use as cache and page memory. ( I remember seeing a screenshot with someone with a almost empty iPhone and Rock was using almost 12GB)

Very similar situation back in the day when Java didn't want to play nice with Windows DLLs...

Can anyone point to a GOOD definitive instruct as to how to properly remove it FULLY? TIA

Same exact thing happened to me. I could not login to activate MyWi. They ignored my emails.

What was this simple mistake you made? Maybe I was making it too.

Most veteran Jailbreakers avoid Rock. I won't label myself a full veteran. I do avoid Rock at all cost. ;) personal experience and others I trust is my main reason.

Uh, (Cough!) using wrong username to log into account.
But as stupid a mistake that was, Rock just stopped
answering my emails once I told them I had problems
logging onto their server.

Okay...here is a cautious question....

Are there other ways to get MyWi and My3G
without installing Rock?

I also have licenses for both so I don't know
if alternative measures would work.

There are ways to get MyWi installed without using Rock but those ways can't be talked about here. It involves adding a source in Cydia.

I use 3G Unrestrictor my old version was paid for and now that I have the I4 I will renew the license. personally there is not a single App in Rock I want! I like 3GU better then the others. but that's me.

i don't feel bad for developers who get their apps cracked because they force users to download rock in order to use them

IMO they are just asking for it

Ya, I understand where you guys
are coming from.

I did the right thing. Got Rock. Paid
for their apps. I mean, in all, it didn't
cost much.

However, to find out that their Customer
Service is your best friend till you have
a problem -and- that their app causes
jailbreak problems doesn't make me feel
sorry for them when people use other
means to obtain those apps without license.

I paid $40 for two copies of MyWi, one on each of two iPhones and I can only use one due to the rock login problem. You can bet that I am still using two copies of the app now still.

Rock caused my phone to go into infinite boot cycle and had to restore.

I uninstalled it after MyWi trial was over and after the reboot my phone died. Hate Rock...
