Here is my setup:

iPhone 3GS - 32GB
Model - MC134C
Firmware - 5.1.1 (9B206)
Factory Locked to Telus
Baseband - 05.16.05

Bought this phone used and had a heck of a time getting 5.1 installed a couple weeks ago. I had used iTools 2012 to determine the phone was locked to Telus which is my carrier but I could never get it to recognize the SIM card. I had to use SAM Unlock to get service on the phone. Wanted to move up to 5.1.1 for the untether so I did an update in iTunes and it restarted to the Connect to iTunes screen. I put it in DFU mode and performed a tethered jailbreak via redsn0w as Absinthe would not see the phone.

The jailbreak worked and the phone took me to the setup screen. I setup the phone as a new phone. I run into a no service issue which I had to use SAM Unlock to resolve for some reason....

I then go into Cydia and download Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether and everything installs correctly, no errors. I click 'Reboot Device' and it reboots to the Connect to iTunes screen.

Only way around this is a tethered boot via redsn0w.

I don't know if the SAM Unlock plays a part in this or not.

I have tried a Restore in iTunes multiple times and I am not getting anywhere.

Suggestions would be great! Thank you!
