Hi,
Wondered if anyone had any suggestions or experiences with Rode mics.
I recently purchased the Rode video mic go II due to its USB C and compatibility with iPhones/iPads. The mic is designed to be a ‘plug and play’ device where you can use the mic as a recording device when plugged into the device. I’ve bought the official Rode cable to eliminate any compatibility issues.
Now, the issue. Whenever I record a video with the mic plugged into the iPhone 16 Pro Max, there is a constant background noise. If I was to try and describe it, it would sound like a rumbling or maybe wind. However, I am in an insulated room with no AC units or anything like that. No windows open etc. I’ve downloaded the Rode app to tweak with the settings, high pass filter etc and the only setting which seems to work is when I enable the ‘pad’ setting which gets rid of the low rumbling noise but makes the sound of my voice from the mic really low and it kind of makes the overall sound quite ‘processed’ and not very clear.
I’m new to all this so wondered if this was normal and it’s something B.V. you have to fix in post?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
